What are Dental Implants?

Many patients suffer in silence with unstable dentures creating insecurity when speaking and eating in public as well as having to give up certain foods. Dental implants provide a long-lasting solution to missing teeth, giving patients reassurance and returning their confidence and comfort with daily activities.

Dental Implants not only provide a more natural feeling compared to bridges and dentures but also provide an increased biting force when eating. Whether you have one or more missing teeth, dental implants are the gold standard solution for replacing teeth and provide multiple long term benefits to your quality of life.

The actual implants are small metal alloy screws which that fix into the jawbone. These implants act like the root of a natural tooth and are used to anchor natural-looking false teeth. The bone grows naturally around the dental implant, providing a solid platform for crowns, bridges and dentures.

We provide you with a smile that not only looks healthy and natural but one that feels and functions as close to your own teeth as possible.
We also offer All-on-4, All-on-6 and All-on-8 treatment options.?
The All-on solutions involve a dental treatment to help patients replace teeth that have all been lost in one or both jaws. The names come from the fact that the treatment comprises of attaching the complete bridge (full upper or lower set of teeth) to the jaw using either 4, 6 or 8 implants. Therefore every tooth does not require an individual implant.

The All-on-4®, All-on-6 and All-on-8 treatment options provide the best solution for full-arch (jaw) treatment using implants. At Campbell Dental Practice we exclusively use Nobel Biocare implant products and therefore are able to offer this to our patients. Dr Sam Ahmed will advise you of the best option for you during your consultation.
All-on-4® treatment concept, a minimally invasive solution with a fixed full-arch restoration for high patient satisfaction.

How much do implants cost?

This is often the first questions patients ask. At Campbell Dental Practice we always reassure patients that payment plans can be designed to ensure they fit into your personal budget. The cost does not need to become a barrier when considering dental implants.

Although implants are only available on the NHS in certain cases, the cost of private implants can at times only slightly exceed the cost of conventional NHS treatment, such as dentures, bridges and crowns. The benefits our patients have seen from having dental implants, enabling them to lead their daily life without compromise, demonstrates that implants are a long term investment with multiple benefits.
The first step is a consultation.

If you are considering whether dental implants are the right choice for you why not book a consultation with Dr Sam Ahmed where he can discuss with you what options would work best for you.
Dentures
If you have a few or all of your teeth missing, one solution is to have a denture. Here is how it works:

-
A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your mouth a natural appearance.
-
After impressions are taken, a denture is designed in a dental laboratory.
-
Dentures are made to fit snugly on your gums and you will be able to remove them for cleaning.
Life benefits:

-
A solution to replacing several missing teeth.

-
Designed to give you a natural-looking smile.
When you wear a denture for the first time it may take some getting used to when speaking or eating and chewing. It is important that you take extra care when conducting your hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. The hygienist will be able to show you how to best take care of your denture and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this.
